Buddy had a ritual of greeting us at the door every day, standing on his hind legs to 'hug' our legs. He discovered that the heating vent in the bathroom was his favorite spot, and he would claim it every morning. During thunderstorms, instead of hiding, he would sit by the window and watch the lightning as if fascinated by the display. One memorable Christmas, he commandeered an empty gift box and refused to leave it for days, turning it into his personal throne.
